The Platform Title Sequence
This collaborative project tasked two designers with creating a fully original title sequence through filming, animation, and editing. The selected film, The Platform, provided a narrative grounded in stark confinement and shifting social hierarchies, themes that informed the conceptual and visual approach to the sequence. Filmed shots of raw concrete were used to echo the prison-like setting, while vertical camera movements symbolized both the central platform and the vertical mobility of class within the story. Typography, sound, and pacing were aligned to the rhythm of the film, creating a sense of tension and atmosphere consistent with its tone. Capturing smooth, consistent footage proved difficult, requiring multiple reshoots to achieve clarity and stability. All clips were re-filmed at 4K resolution to meet quality standards, and seamless transitions between shots demanded careful keyframing and color correction. The result is a title sequence that mirrors the narrative and aesthetic world of The Platform, using motion, texture, and rhythm to complete a cohesive and cinematic opening experience.
