Dune Animation

This motion piece interprets an interview with cinematographer Greig Fraser, who reflects on his creative choices for Dune 2. The audio was edited into a paced sequence, then paired with storyboards that mapped out rhythm and visual metaphor. From there, graphics, shapes, and typography were animated in After Effects to abstractly embody the language of the narration. The project became an extended study in motion design, where every transition and gesture needed to carry meaning. Hours were spent refining pacing, with easing techniques used to give movements a natural sense of weight and flow. Obstacles lie in the precision required of synchronizing abstract form to spoken word, demanding patience and an eye for detail. The finished work sits between interpretation and expression: a translation of spoken ideas into moving metaphor, where sound and visuals operate as one. It underscores how animation can expand the meaning of language by turning voice into motion.
