Belle Isle Conservancy App

This project explored how mobile design could bridge communication gaps within local non-profits. The Belle Isle Conservancy, whose many facilities advertised events across separate websites, became the focus. The goal was to unify these scattered platforms into a single, accessible app that streamlined discovery and engagement. The design process began with wireframes, followed by rounds of refinement to pare down features into a focused experience. A working prototype was built in Figma and tested with users, whose feedback shaped the accessibility of the app design. From there, the project moved into front-end development, coded in HTML and CSS. Each stage introduced challenges from learning how to diagnose unexpected coding issues to navigating the complexities of a first mobile UX project. The finished app presents a clean, text-forward interface that highlights hierarchy and clarity. Features include upcoming events, RSVP functionality, a calendar view, tagging filters, and the ability to save favorites. It embodies both utility and elegance, serving as a practical tool while elevating the Conservancy’s community presence.
